Hungry Ghosts: On The Altar of Mortals
The Hungry Ghosts work chronicles people attending the 1978 Mardi Gras in New Orleans, locations in the French Quarter and Zulu neighborhoods. My photographs are curated with passages from the writings of Thomas Wolfe, author of "Look Homeward Angel".
"Hungry Ghosts: On The Altar of Mortals" is interested in the human desire to shrug off the burdens of daily existence as spectators of the spectacle outside themselves, to distract and ease the hardships of life on earth as a human being, living but not in aliveness.
